Fast Track Teacher Training?

I'm a soldier with 24 years experience in the infantry behind me. Most of this has either been instructional or operational posts. Now I realise that this does not necessarily mean I will make a great teacher. However I am about to complete my history degree with the OU later this year. Are there any fast track teacher training courses available in Scotland for ex soldiers. If not then what is my best bet? I will be living in the Glasgow area.
