I have a problem with my internet connection. I'm not totally pc aware so I need some help with this please

When I look at my broadband status I keep receiving errors on my bytes received. The amount of errors differs with the amount of pages looked at on the net. I have run the network diagnostic program and it says that my network adapter has failed. clicking on this it tells me that the WAN Miniport(IP) has failed whatever that is. Clicking on this it says DNSServerSearchOrder failed. It then says 212.50.160.100 failed with info that Packets sent 4 received 0 lost 4 100% loss. I dont have a clue what it means so any help would be great thanks. Is the problem lying with my PC, my modem (speedtouch 330), my filter or my phone line. I don't kno where to start to fix the problem. My Broadband service is with Kingston Karoo if that makes any difference. (its all we can get in Hull) All help much appreciated thanks.
