I am a Gay Catholic. I keep hearing people tell me I will be "excommunicated"?

Gay Catholics are NOT excommunicated. However, if they are in a state of mortal sin (through extramarital , for example), then they need to refrain from receiving the Holy Eucharist until they have been to confession and corrected their situation.
