Immature or not?? opinions from men and women in their thirties ?

my ex and i split about 2 weeks ago. we are both in our thirties and we dated for about 4 months bc he was really rude to me at times. i gave him several chances, but i told him i didnt want to give him another bc i just felt like he was who he was and i was who i was. he had given me a lawnmower- push one for my gr. mine didnt work anymore and he said i could have it instead of buying another one. once we split i noticed it was missing from my storage area in back of my house. i called him to see if he had taken it or if it was stolen. he said i took it bc i didnt like the way you didnt give me another chance. he said he has issues but if i cared i would give him a chance and work things out. he said it was mine anyway , i just let you use it. he actually gave it to me, and i wouldnt be upset had he just asked for it back. he never called or asked for it, he just came over when he knew i was at work and took it. never telling me a word, i would never go on anyone's property and take something i lent or gave to them. i am just upset bc he knew i needed it and he took it just to spite me. i even told him if he would of called before coming, i would of offered him money for it although he really did give it to me. he said i wouldnt sell it to you. the thing is that he has so many lawnmowers bc he takes them from houses after he renters leave without paying and such. was he being rude, mean, and immature?
